Moss (born February 13 1977) is a former American footballer. He was a player
for the Minnesota Vikings (Oak Raiders), New England Patriots (New England
Patriots), Tennessee Titans (Tennessee Titans), and the San Francisco 49ers in
the National Football League. He is widely acknowledged as Jerry Rice's most
outstanding wide receiver. He holds the NFL single-season record for touchdown
receptions of 23 in 2007. the NFL rookie single-season touchdown reception record
(17 in 1998) and is ranked second on NFL's all-time regular-season touchdown
receptions list, with 156. Moss is popular for his ability make contested
catches. The term "mossed" is a term that has now entered the
vocabulary of football, became popularized due to this. Moss began his career
as a studio analyst for ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown and Tuesday Night Countdown
shows. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia native. He attended DuPont High
School. It was one of two schools which was later amalgamated into Riverside
High School. There the student excelled at football, basketball, baseball
tracks, and many other sports. Randy was also part of the school’s debate team.
On the field of football, Moss led the DuPont Panthers to back-to-back state
championships in 1992 and 1993. He was an excellent wide receiver, but also
played free safety as well as returned punts and kickoffs, as well as was the
team's kicker and punter. He was awarded the Kennedy Award for West Virginia
Football Player's of the Year in the year 1994. Parade magazine named him to
their annual All-American high school football team in 1995. in 2009, they
named him one of the 50 greatest footballers from high schools of all time.
